CONCEPT:

Mix the perfect MICHELADA and SCORE points in conversation to see who you will end up with!

WHAT WENT WRONG:

Alot! Trying to put together a scoring system to record points for each "date" was very challenging. I spent countless hours trying to determine the current score of the drink mixing portion of the game to update the facial response of the date after the drink was served. i ended up going with just the total score instead of the drink score. I was not able to add a bad ending when scores totaled zero or less. I wanted to add a gallery with date and rejection scenes but ran out of time.

WHAT WENT RIGHT:

I was happy that I was able to get out a "game" in less than a week. I was able to find most of the necessary answers to my questions from online resources. I was able to get two date characters in the game and both main bartender characters in.  This was my first-time using Unity 2D. I found a 2D character creator for Unity that made adding the characters and different emotes easy.

WHAT I LEARNED:

Trying to make a sim game if very challenging. The dialogue requirements for a dating sim are tremendous. Trying to make a food making or drink mixing game is always hard.  I learned how to work in 2D. I learned that trying to figure things out on your own is good experience to get your mind thinking logically but going to resources like ChatGPT or experience individuals on Discord would probably have been smarter to do sooner and saved me a lot of time.

WHAT I PLAN TO LEARN NEXT WEEK:

Next week I want to learn to make a leaderboard and possibly some co-op or online connectivity. It would be cool to try to model something in Blender.

Kind regards,

SkyKatchr

This was a fun concept! The game has a lot of content and it was enjoyable to chew through it.

A few points of feedback:
- Make sure the text is clear. Use a background to contrast the text so it's easy to read
- It would have been helpful to have an explanation for the cocktail section. A pop up or help button would be enough to explain the mechanics

It's great to see you working through different logic systems for your games, keep up the good work
