BARPG
A downloadable game
CONCEPT:
An attempt to focus on porting code over from one project to another, improving UI skills, working on simple dialogue with animations and small level progression.
WHAT WENT WRONG:
Alot! I was able to get some dialogue in but not what I necessarily intended to. I wanted to attempt to incorporate the concepts from Mix&Jams tutorial for Animal Crossing dialogue using my available assets (2D characters and 3D environments). So I did not finish any of the things I intended to. I was really only able to work on this for two full days.
WHAT WENT RIGHT:
I got some practice using Dialogue System for Unity by Pixel Crushers. It was not too difficult to get something to work, I am hoping to use this tool as my primary dialogue tool. I got the typewriter function to work with sound.
WHAT I LEARNED:
I learned how to get started with Dialogue System tool. I learned that porting code over from one project to another, improving UI skills, working on simple dialogue with animations and small level progression can be really tough especially when trying to jam it all within a couple of days. I don't really have too much experience with any of it.
WHAT I PLAN TO LEARN NEXT WEEK:
Next week I want to focus on animations with dialogue and idle animations.
Kind regards,
SkyKatchr

I can see you slowly evolving your systems and putting them together in unique ways. For this tech demo, there are refinements on old systems that you developed that will come in handy later.
Something to consider is using simple art styles to match the style of your RPG. Reducing colors and creating uniformity in the art can help create an identity and make production faster for animation and art assets.
I encourage you to continue exploring new art styles and building upon existing systems while experimenting with new ones
